Coffee exfoliant homemade with cinnamon
Heck Yeah, It's Time for a Cinnamon Coffee Scrub!
Wake up and smell the coffee (scrub)! When it comes to a morning pick-me-up, nothing quite beats the aroma and benefits of coffee and cinnamon mixed together. Here's an easy and tasty DIY recipe for a Cinnamon Coffee Scrub that'll have you feeling energized and invigorated.
Ingredients:- Leftover coffee grounds (great for recycling! Our fave brand is Cafely)- Baking Soda- Cinnamon or Cinnamon Essential Oil (if you got it)- Carrier Oil (like olive, coconut, or V-6)- Coconut Oil
Instructions:
- Mix equal parts leftover coffee grounds and baking soda. Adjust the amount as desired for your scrub size. If you're unsure, try 1/2 cup of both coffee grounds and baking soda.
- Add a teaspoon of cinnamon for every cup of your coffee and baking soda mixture (if using cinnamon powder). If you're using cinnamon essential oil, dilute it with your chosen carrier oil. Start with one drop and see what works best for you. If it's too strong or you have sensitive skin, add more carrier oil.
- Combine the cinnamon (or cinnamon oil mixture) with your dry ingredients and stir.
- Add a small amount of coconut oil to your mixture. Gradually increase the amount as you stir, aiming for a fudge-like consistency.
- Jar it up, and you're ready to use your essential oil cinnamon scrub.
Pro Tips:- Adjust the amount of coffee grounds, baking soda, and cinnamon to your preference.- Experiment with different essential oils for a custom scent.- Store your scrub in an airtight container and use within a few weeks for best results.
Take It to the Next Level:- Use cold coffee grounds for a more invigorating sensation.- Add raw honey for extra moisturizing properties.- Get creative with other essential oils like peppermint, eucalyptus, or lavender.
