In the heart of Büttgen North-West, a series of transformative projects are underway, aiming to improve the quality of life for its residents and enhance community facilities.

The city council's resolution has earmarked a temporary facility to serve as a bridge until permanent accommodation options are created at Glehner Straße. The specifics of this project are yet to be confirmed, as detailed information is scarce at present.

One of the key areas of focus is the sports sector. The Aldegundishalle will continue to cater to club sports in the short term, with plans for a new two-field sports hall, complete with a shooting range, in the medium to long term. The soccer field of VfR Buettgen, including the running track, will be redeveloped with a new artificial surface for the running track and a division into an artificial turf field and a trend sports area.

Noise conflicts with the sports facility will be addressed by the construction of senior-friendly housing on Driescher Straße. Additionally, long and high jump facilities will be installed at the head ends of the soccer field, and floodlights will enable year-round use.

The natural science wing of the Realschule is being considered for conversion into course rooms for fitness, yoga, or senior sports. Meanwhile, the former fire equipment house on Driescher Straße will be demolished and replaced with senior-friendly housing in the publicly funded segment.

In the education sector, the Grundschule Budica will expand at its traditional location on Lichtenvooder Straße to accommodate additional space for school operations and the open all-day primary school. Upon completion of modernization and expansion construction measures, the Grundschule Budica will return to its original location, and the former Hauptschule's facilities will be used for residential purposes.

A medium to long-term plan is to build a new daycare center for the elderly on the grounds of the former Haupt- und Realschule. The Gesamtschul complex will be converted to residential use in the long term, with a mix of single-family houses, semi-detached houses, and multi-family houses.

The CDU is advocating for a comprehensive residential concept for the entire Gesamtschul complex area after the school's move. They are also considering a collaboration with the Kaarster Housing Cooperative for the senior-friendly housing project on Driescher Straße. Both publicly funded and privately financed housing options will be integrated into the planning of the Gesamtschul complex.

Lastly, the quality of greening in the neighbourhood is emphasized for high-quality living in the Buettgen North-West development. The CDU is committed to ensuring a balanced and sustainable approach to development, prioritizing the well-being of its residents and the preservation of the local environment.

For those seeking authoritative and detailed information about these topics, it is recommended to consult the local municipality’s planning office or official community development announcements related to Büttgen North-West. They typically provide updates on infrastructure projects, renovations of sports facilities, plans for senior-friendly housing accommodations, new sports hall constructions, and school building conversions.

  • The new sports hall with a shooting range will not only cater to traditional sports but also introduce trend sports in the area.
  • The expansion of the Grundschule Budica and the construction of a daycare center for the elderly are part of the education sector's focus in the Büttgen North-West development, aiming to improve living conditions and preserve the local environment.
