Carnival Festivities on May 28th, 2025: A Recap of the Spring Event
The annual Spring Carnival at Bronx Science, a student-led event, took place on May 28th, 2025, transforming the school courtyard into a vibrant hub of entertainment and camaraderie. This day-long celebration offered a much-needed break from academic pursuits for the student body.
The carnival was a testament to the organizing skills of the S.O. Cabinet, who meticulously planned and executed a variety of activities. These included a cotton candy machine, an inflatable toxic meltdown, a bouncy castle, a balloonist station, beading crafts, ice cream, popcorn, and the ever-popular teacher dunk tank.
In the teacher dunk tank, esteemed teachers such as Mr. Kubiak, Mr. Nasser, Ms. Schmidt, Mr. Ziegler, Mr. Piccarella, Mr. Sheiber, and Ms. Bales bravely volunteered to be dunked, much to the delight of the students. The highlight of the day was the competitive game where students tried to throw a ball into a target, causing their favourite teachers to be dunked in the tank.
The day was filled with laughter and joyful music, creating an atmosphere that truly felt like the start of an amazing summer. Angi Musat '26, a student participant, appreciated the organization system for giving out ice cream during the event, commenting on the smooth running of the activities.
Students from S.O. Cabinet and members of the NHS worked tirelessly throughout the day, restocking popcorn machines, making cotton candy, organizing games, taking photos, scanning IDs, and more, ensuring the day ran smoothly. New participants, including Bea Sireci, Gigi Liu, Fight Club, The Final Girl Support Group, Kathryn Wu, Bridget Galwey, Yardena Franklin, Ennio Wong, Danny Lin, and Kathy Le, also joined in the festivities, adding to the community spirit of the day.
The Spring Carnival at Bronx Science is not just an event for students; it is a day for the entire community to come together. Families were invited to join in the fun, making it a community-inclusive event. The Bronx Science Parents Association actively supported and encouraged participation, demonstrating the strong community engagement in the school's activities.
As the sun set on the day, students left the carnival feeling energized to finish the school year strongly. The Spring Carnival at Bronx Science is more than just a day of fun; it's a celebration of the school community and a testament to the spirit of Bronx Science students.
