Art installation exhibition unveiled in Hilders, showcasing captivating land art in the stunning Rhön region.
Unique Nature Art Exhibition by Junior Rangers Opens in Hilders
Tomorrow, August 14, 2025, a unique exhibition of nature art by young conservationists will be unveiled at the Hessian Administrative Office of the Rhön UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in Hilders. The exhibition, running until the end of September, showcases creative works inspired by eco-life, birds, and nature, created by children and youth passionate about environmental issues.
The artworks on display include large-format photographs of land art objects created by Junior Rangers. These intricate pieces feature delicate flower patterns, spirally arranged twigs, and stone circles, all reflecting the children's respectful and often playful interaction with their environment.
The Junior Rangers from the Ebersburg group have also contributed to the exhibition. Guided by Maria Leinberger and Thomas Löw, the Ebersburg group brings practical knowledge and enthusiasm for nature conservation to their artworks. An installation created directly in the exhibition room supplements the works, further immersing visitors in the natural beauty of the Rhön.
The exhibition invites visitors to see the Rhön through the eyes of its youngest conservationists. It showcases the creative intertwining of nature experience, environmental education, and art, demonstrating how young people process their nature experiences through artistic expression, resulting in impressive pieces.
The exhibition is open Monday to Thursday from 8 am to 4 pm, and Friday from 8 am to 2 pm. Project coordinator Thomas Löw summarizes that when working with nature, art explains itself.
For more information, please visit the Hessian Administrative Office of the Rhön UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in Hilders, located at Marienstraße 13, 36115 Hilders.
While there are related events that highlight young artists and conservation-themed art, such as the annual AFC exhibits in Vancouver, BC, and the MRF’s Nature Enclave, this particular exhibition is unique in its focus on young conservationists from the Rhön area. A youth environmental group, SOFO’s Young Environmentalists Society, led by an interdisciplinary artist, is also active and connected to local nature and conservation themes, though no direct exhibition date is listed at present.
Join us in celebrating the creativity and passion of the Junior Rangers as they share their love for nature and the environment through art. Don't miss this opportunity to experience the Rhön through the eyes of its youngest conservationists!
