Art Dispensing Machines in Berlin: Original Paintings and Sculptures Available for Purchase via Vending Machines
In an innovative move, Kunstschule Berlin has launched a new project that brings art to the streets of Berlin. The project, known as Kunst2Go, offers a unique opportunity to support the underground art world and start your own art collection without breaking the bank.
The artworks, created by Berlin-based artists, are available for purchase from four Kunst2Go vending machines scattered across the city. These machines are none other than repurposed tights vending machines, popular in the 1990s, giving them a nostalgic twist.
Each artwork, ranging in style and medium from urban landscapes and collages to glass, watercolour, and lino print, can be purchased for just €8. Each of the 15 artists involved in the project will have their own designated slot and button in the fifth and final machine.
Rahel Bachem, the inventor of the Tattoomat, was consulted for the modernization of the vending machines, ensuring a smooth and user-friendly experience for customers.
Proceeds from the sales will go directly to the artists, making this an exciting venture for both art enthusiasts and the artists themselves. The project reinforces the idea that the value of art is not solely determined by its size, as each artwork is small enough to fit into a 10x15 cardboard box.
