Amazon's Alexa+ Coming to Germany This Year
Amazon is set to bring its advanced voice assistant software, Alexa+, to Germany. The beta launch follows its initial rollout in the US, with no specific date announced yet, but it's expected to arrive alongside new Echo devices later this year.
Alexa+ is the latest version of Amazon's voice assistant, designed to chat with users like an AI chatbot. It's currently being gradually introduced in the US, with no launch date confirmed for Germany yet. Amazon is focusing on the home for Alexa+, aiming to compete with other AI chatbots such as OpenAI's ChatGPT and Google's Gemini.
The software will leverage Amazon's Ring security cameras to enable these AI features. These cameras will collect and analyze data about the home, enhancing Alexa+'s understanding and functionality. One new US feature, 'Search Party', uses Ring cameras to help locate lost pets in the neighborhood. Amazon's future vision for Alexa+ includes reminders to perform tasks like feeding pets and locking doors at night. Additionally, the company is considering expanding Alexa+ to devices outside the home, such as cars.
Amazon's Alexa+ is expected to arrive in Germany later this year, bringing advanced AI chatbot features to users. The software will utilize Ring security cameras to enhance its functionality and could expand to devices beyond the home in the future.
