Alpina's Seastrong Diver model embodies a vintage appeal while showcasing modern power
Introducing the Vintage-Inspired Seastrong Diver Extreme by Alpina
Swiss watch brand Alpina has unveiled a new collection of its iconic Diver Extreme, embracing a vintage charm while retaining its robust tool watch credentials.
The Seastrong Diver Extreme now boasts a case construction of three pieces, featuring both brushed and polished surfaces. The screw-down crown is protected by guards on either side, ensuring durability and style.
Two new colorways are available: a sandblasted black dial (ref. AL-525B3VE6) and a grain-textured khaki option (ref. AL-525K3VE6). Both models come with a black leather strap with a folding clasp, and feature Alpina's signature oversized triangular marker at 12 o'clock and a date window at 6 o'clock. The hands, indices, and seconds hand counterweight are coated with "Old Radium" Super-LumiNova, mimicking the patina of vintage tritium or radium for underwater readability.
Powering these new Seastrong Diver Extreme watches is Alpina's AL-525 movement, based on the Sellita SW200. This reliable movement offers a 38-hour power reserve and a 28,800vph frequency. The unidirectional ceramic bezel has chunky notches for those wearing gloves, ensuring easy operation even in challenging conditions.
The Diver Extreme remains a serious tool watch, with water resistance of a robust 300m. Despite the retro styling, it continues to be a testament to Alpina's watchmaking heritage, as the brand that introduced its first professional dive watch in the Seastrong collection in 1960.
The new vintage-inspired Seastrong Diver Extreme is available now from Alpina's website, priced at $2,588. For those seeking a blend of vintage charm and modern functionality, the Seastrong Diver Extreme is an excellent choice.
