Alfa Romeo vehicle model, designed by Zagato, unveiled in Milan.
In Milan, the exclusive Alfa Romeo 8C DoppiaCoda Zagato, a unique project from Zagato Atelier, has made its debut. This vehicle, based on the 8C Competizione model, boasts a distinctive rear design that vows to redefine aerodynamic research.
The innovative design of the car fuses the Kamm-tail concept with a rounded tail, a first for Zagato. The car was commissioned by an Italian collector and was unveiled at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este on Lake Como, Italy. This annual event showcases unique cars, with this year's exhibitors including BMW and Alpina with the BMW M4-based Zagato coupe.
While the technical specifications of the 8C DoppiaCoda Zagato are still undisclosed, it is assumed that it is powered by the same 4.7-liter atmospheric V8 engine as the series-produced Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione models, delivering 450 horsepower and 480 Nm of torque. This allows the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds, with a top speed of 292 km/h.
The 8C DoppiaCoda Zagato's remarkable rear end, fittingly named DoppiaCoda or Double Tail, features a split-volume design that enhances aerodynamic efficiency while adding dramatic visual impact. The front end sports an angular, aggressively large grille and almond-shaped headlights with intricate projector elements. The design stiffens the original 8C Competizione's curves, replacing triangular fender vents with fin-like air outlets, and the roofline is faster, contributing to better aerodynamic flow.

What about the lifestyle of someone who owns such a remarkable vehicle like the 8C DoppiaCoda Zagato? One might imagine their home-and-garden would reflect the same level of luxury, with cars parked in a state-of-the-art garage, likely including other high-end brands like Alfa Romeo and BMW. As for car maintenance, electric vehicles are becoming increasingly popular, so perhaps this individual might also consider adding a charging station to their garage set-up, even if the 8C DoppiaCoda Zagato isn't an electric vehicle itself.
