ABB E-mobility, a global leader in electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions, has acquired Vourity, a Swedish start-up specializing in cloud-based payment technology for EV charging. The acquisition will enhance ABB E-mobility's technology stack, integrating seamless payment systems into its offerings.
Vourity's solution can be operated through a pay station or integrated directly into charging stations, supporting various payment methods such as credit cards, mobile pay, and RFID tags. This simplicity and ease of use have been praised by Daniel Alarcon-Rubio, Chief Digital Officer at ABB E-mobility.
The acquisition will see Vourity's team, including Android and fintech experts, join ABB E-mobility to develop key payments areas in EV charging. Vourity's mission to simplify everyday lives through cloud-based unattended payment solutions aligns with ABB E-mobility's goal to make EV charging more accessible and convenient. The corporate governance of Vourity will remain largely unchanged, with its founding team members continuing to lead the company under ABB's ownership.
