A woman residing in New York City discovers a 2.3-carat diamond at an Arkansas state park, intending to use it for an engagement ring.

In the southeast portion of Arkansas, a woman from New York City made a remarkable discovery at the Crater of Diamonds State Park. Micherre Fox, who spent three weeks searching for a diamond, unearthed a 2.3-carat white diamond on the last day of her trip.

This find is significant as it is the third-largest diamond discovered at the park in 2021[1][4]. The Crater of Diamonds State Park is a unique location, allowing visitors to search for and keep diamonds found on site. Since 1972, over 35,000 diamonds have been discovered there[2].

While the 2.3-carat diamond discovered by Micherre Fox is much smaller than the park’s largest historic find, the "Uncle Sam," a 40.23-carat white diamond with a pink cast found in 1924, it is still a notable find for a recent discovery and a visitor[1][4]. The "Uncle Sam" is the largest diamond ever found in the United States and is now housed at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History[3][5].

Micherre Fox discovered the glittering diamond while walking in the West Drain area of the park[6]. The diamond is planned to be used in an engagement ring, adding to the personal significance of this remarkable find.
