A Spacious, Bright, and Ventilated Cabin in a Danish Island Setting

Nestled in the picturesque coastal town of Holløselund, on the Danish Riviera near Vejby, lies Kristina's charming summer cottage. Originally built in 1972, this 1970s log cabin underwent a high-style makeover, transforming it into a light, bright, and sophisticated summer retreat.

The renovation, led by designers Christine Sofie Johansen and Rasmus Robert of Studio Force Majeure, in collaboration with Ferm Living founders Trine Andersen and Martin Neve, aimed to preserve the best features of the original structure while modernising its interior. The team's approach was one of enjoyment, blending work and play, involving gardening and socialising during the process.

The summerhouse exemplifies modern Danish seaside style, with an emphasis on natural light and refined simplicity. Photography by Martin Neve beautifully captures the tasteful interiors and the setting near the beach. Notable features include an Ellos sofa for seating, Color & Co blinds for privacy, and a Tap Quooker in the kitchen.

The cabin boasts a display cabinet similar to The Skovby #452 display cabinet, a Ferm Living port wood basket, a VIPP bin, and a Sika Design mirror, all contributing to its stylish aesthetic. The walls are adorned with artworks such as 'Motljus' by Sandra Blomén Maschinsky and 'You' print by Sofia Lind, adding a touch of sophistication.

The summerhouse also houses a Umi bench by Make Nordic, a Nordal bamboo pendant light, and a Fritz Hansen 7 chair, further enhancing its contemporary charm. The Bonne Mere quilt is used as a decorative piece, adding a homely touch to the overall design.

This little Danish cabin in the woods, now a standout summer residence in the region, has been listed with a boutique real estate firm and is reportedly under contract, reflecting its appeal. For those dreaming of a weekend getaway, the Danish summerhouse in Lammefjorden is available for rent, offering a chance to experience the idyllic natural environment and Danish summer vibes firsthand.
