The city of Bremen is gearing up for the return of the annual Vegetable Festival, set to take place on October 6th. This year, the event will collaborate with BioCity Bremen for the first time, promising a day filled with entertainment, education, and fun.

The festival will kick off with a scavenger hunt-style vegetable rally, followed by a variety of stalls offering treats for all tastes. The Hafen Revue Theater will host a quiz show, while shops along the shopping mile will open for Sunday shopping from 1 pm to 6 pm, offering special deals and current autumn collections.

Music enthusiasts can look forward to performances by local bands and DJs, with the Neo-Soul band Soulrenders taking the stage around 4:45 pm. Traditional skiffle pieces and oldies from the 60s and 70s, some in Low German, will be played by the Sundown Skifflers at 11:30 am and 2 pm.

For families, there will be a children's program filled with activities such as face painting, storytelling, and games. Interactive workshops on gardening, cooking demonstrations using vegetables, and tastings are also on the agenda. Guessing games and learning materials about sustainability will be available for those interested in learning more.

Acrobat Jens Ohle will entertain with his tour along the shopping mile, and "walking acts" will provide humour and acrobatics throughout the day. A live cooking show with TV chef Barbara Stadler will take place on Sedanplatz, creating and cooking dishes to match the offerings at the organic market.

The festival will also feature an ADFC bike flea market, offering used bikes and bike accessories, combined with information stands about cycling routes and safety. Bike coding workshops will be available from 2 pm to 5 pm.

A bio market with farm product sales, a bio snack bar, and information stands will be set up on Sedanplatz, with participants including SolaWi Sophienhof Hofladen, Hofladen Reichwald, mySolarFuture, Gaertnerhof Oldendorf & Solawi Oldendorf e.V., Landwirtschaftskammer Bremen, EWS Schoenau, frischeKISTE, Bauhof Wohnimpuls GmbH & Co. KG, and Furth Hof.

Visitors can also look forward to Vegetable Bingo, and various interactive activities such as making torches and painting picture frames. The current program for the Vegetable Festival and BioCity Bremen collaboration can be found here.

A pop-up store called "Schuhhaus Nordenholz" will open for the first time on October 5th and 6th, offering second-hand clothing and various workshop offers. The Sea Shepherds will also be on-site to inform Untersessen about their work.

The festival will come alive from 11 am to 6 pm, with the pedestrian zone buzzing with excitement. Don't miss out on this fantastic event, mark your calendars for October 6th, and join the celebration of all things vegetable in Bremen!

Attendees will find a mix of food-and-drink stalls offering diverse treats, along with interactive workshops on cooking and gardening, as part of the festival's home-and-garden activities during the celebration. Shopping enthusiasts can take advantage of Sunday shopping from 1 pm to 6 pm, with special deals and autumn collections available at shops along the shopping mile.
